Southern Courier 90th Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Last Sunday the Southern Courier local newspaper put on a party for their 90th birthday.
The prospect of free food and entertainment always gets the attention of our barkada and so it was that I joined Gina and all our hordes of kids down at Maroubra Beach, early enough to get a half decent carpark.
Despite being there 90 minutes prior to the actual event, parking was at a premium. Thankfully we found some space on a grassy area where other fed up motorists had taken to parking.
It was a true wonder that the Randwick Council parking Nazis were not out in force raising revenues by thousands of dollars. One is certain Botany Council's money scrounging Mayor would not have missed such a great opportunity.

An hour was spent on the beach while the kids swam and Stephanie Rice received much media coverage over a recent donation to the surf life saving club there.
Despite numerous attempts, we never got an answer from dear ol Analiza regarding her expected time of arrival there. We had gone by 8pm, so hopefully she didn't show after that :-)

A quick look at the events they had on offer lead to a cameo appearance by our beloved little Anabelle. Although we didn't get to spend time with her, Mr Perfect would never allow that (we tend to poison minds with truth), it was great to see her out and about enjoying the function with her kids.

Twas then we headed back to the surf life saving club to have some lunch and then met up with Enday and Honey (along with their endlessly gossiping mate Lisa). Two hours or so after that and both Gina and myself are also joined by our respective asawas for the rest of the afternoon.

Anyway I am due to go to work, so please enjoy the following shots from the day.

Someone had been naughty. Either that or someones boyfriend was keeping an eye on us :-)

Gina's hat enjoyed the band so much it threw itself at the stage.

The gang!

The forever beautiful little Honey.

Even the other attending hornbags were having fun.

Dancing to a band other than the Kamis. Streeeewth!

Officer Ego's Humour Corner!

WELCOME!

To my new section of the Manila-Downunder blog.

When I am not out busily destroying friendships I am often cruising the internet looking for things of interest to me. Being that I am not easily interested-anything that does bring on a chuckle would obviously appear quite awesome to those of you normal people on the street who have never reached the high ranks of a Philippine police officer, an achievement only ever reached by the more, shall we say 'intellectual', people of the community.
Now despite my being a Philippine National Police officer, I don't wish you to feel inadequate when I post, as a former member of the Philippine National Police I feel it is my duty to serve and protect those of you who, quite frankly, could never be a Philippine National Police officer like me.
While it is a rather time consuming bother to have to type up this occasional contribution for people, like yourselves, who probably can't string two sentences together, given you have never been a Philippine National Police officer. I do feel it is my payment to all the less privileged in society who look up to me for guidance.
I do thank the owners of this blogsite for seeing the potential a superior intellect will bring to their usual boring, non Philippine National Police, type postings and allowing this occasional section.

Now before we go on to our first photo, I wish to point out that all photos here are genuine. There is no fakery, no lies, no bribes and no cons - just the honest to goodness service you have come to expect from members of the Philippine National Police force.

Please now enjoy my occasional column.
Regards
Officer Ego

PS: Did I mention I was in the Philippine National Police?

Latrell's Christening! Yep I finally Got around To It!

G'day,
OK its true, I have been pretty slack with the coverage of my godson's christening. Actually I have been exceedingly slack with it :-(
Most of our friends would know by now I have been suffering greatly through the actions of someone and the effect this has had on our group. However time gradually heals all and now as we get on with life as close to before as possible, I again find myself with a desire to get back to working on all the blog sites.
Anyway the following selection of piccies were taken by 'The Colonel' during the big christening event recently.

FILIPINA BEAUTY
Its hard to deny that they are a very beautiful people.
The stunning Analiza, Maria and Ning take a break from christening duties.

Siti just get more beautiful each time you see her.

More piccies after the ceremony.

Left to right
Jon, Cecile, Ron, Gina, Brad, Bing, James, Jessie, with the forever
cute Honey up front.

Ferlie has trouble making a decision which to drink!

Gina, Ron and Latrell with Grandma and Analiza behind.

The christening cake - truly a spectacular sight to see.

SCUM PHOTO REMOVED

Our beloved, and much missed, Anabelle.
One misses those wonderful smiles and drunken disco nights :-(

LIES - RUMOURS - BOLLOCKS - EGOS - DECEIT
THREATS

They are all often part of the Philippine community that we hold so dear to us all. However lately a reasonably new comer, and outsider, to the 'G-Spot Karaoke Barkada' has been making more than his fair share of trouble for a number of us all.
The rubbish grows almost daily, with the offender too scared to even front the group with an explanation.

If you are told any rumours, do the right thing and tell those of us in question. On special advice I am unable to say much more here, however everyone knows my email address should you hear something or need to know more.

Lets make it a wonderful community again!

Lets stamp out the invented trash that passes for information!

Coogee Sojourn!

Howdee,
Again I find myself amazed by how much time has past since my last posting to this site.
The reasons for this are many and varied, although a lack of motivation, brought on by someone causing hassles in the group, is the primary source of this pure laziness.
In an effort to remove ourselves from it all we headed off for a lovely sunny day alongside Coogee Beach. It has been many years, actually decades, since I last went to Coogee Beach and one had forgotten the crowds, and hornbags, that regularly grace the location with their presence.
Please enjoy the following selection of piccies taken during the day and into the night.

Hot Day - Coooooooool Shade!

A couple of western type woman observe the monument for the people killed in the 2002 Bali bombing.

Bali bombing monument looks over Coogee Bay.

A couple of cuties enjoy a good gossip while observing the beach from Dolphins Point.

The view being enjoyed by the cuties above.

FOOD TIME
Ning, Gina, Ron and Latrell

The Plane - The Plane

OK, I realise she isn't oriental, but she did seem to lighten up the beach!

Latrell and Scott look out across Coogee Bay.
Well they were before the camera got there.

Dolphins Point

These lovely ladies were holidaying around Australia with a few blokes. Of course the blokes are of little interest, so here the woman.
Seeing my 'obvious' interest, they asked me to take some more piccies
with their camera.

Worthy of a second look!

Despite the threat of a major storm (see cloud bottom right corner) the sun stayed with us until night time.
Here it is seen in its final couple of hours.

Gina and Ning enjoy the late afternoon warmth.

The age old fun of building sandcastles.
Though doing it in a running stream will NOT work.

Seagulls going about their Seagull business during the last moments of sunlight!

Their still at it.

Hi Rajin!!

Honest - I don't actually have a seagull fetish.
Gerbils are much more soft.
:-)

My mate Gina!

Ones vision after to many Vodka Breezers.
Main street in Coogee.

Ahhmmmm, this one is out of order.
A little stream that runs into Coogee Bay, taken before night (obviously)

Beachside pathway.

And finally, a bit of mucking around bagged me this rather interesting
shot of a light along the beach.
